Scrappin' Saturday!!!!

Yesterday I was blessed with some time to enjoy my favorite hobby (I think my hubby calls it an addiction - LOL!) I actually was able to play for more than 8 hours - that's the first time I have been able to do that in over a year and it felt so good to be creative (or at least to do some copying!)

Here are some of the projects I was able to complete:

The first two here are some photo mats I purchased at the dollar store and I simply covered and added some embellishments.
I used Babycakes paper and embellishments along with the chocolate striped ribbon and chocolate waxy flax.  I used the Art & Philosophy Cricut cartridge for his name.

For Tenley's I used our Lollydooodle paper and stickease along with metal flowers and a sparkle flourish! I used the Art & Philosophy cartridge for her name also!
The cool thing is I added a flip-flap to the back of the mats so I can easily change the pictures out and keep it updated.

For this layout I used Babycakes paper, complements and stickease along with our Artbooking Cricut cartridge.

And the last project I worked on was the Bracket Frame - I covered this with a sheet of our black card stock form the Paper Fundamentals (I cut it using the Art Philosophy cartridge.) For the inside I used a sheet (the light blue design) from the Balloon Ride paper pack and the black print is from a retired kit.  Then I added some metal flowers, sparkle flourish and black striped ribbon.  The saying is a zip-strip quote from one of our retired kits.

Most of the items I used for these projects will be retiring on July 31st, so contact me today to get your order placed or visit my website to start shopping! For anyone who places an order before 9 PM on July 31, your name will be entered into a drawing for $25 in FREE select products. (Please note --- the total of everyone's orders must be at least $150 in order to have a hostess.) In addition, for every $30 you purchase, you will get a handmade goodie from me.

Technique Hop - Annual Inspirations Sneak Peek

Welcome to July's edition of the Technique Blog Hop.  This month we are featuring a variety of techniques from Close To My Heart's new Annual Inspirations Idea Book that will be released on August 1st.  All throughout the book are many different techniques to help you add just the right touch to your layout, card or project.   If you are coming from Melissa's blog, then you are on the right path.  Be sure to visit all the designer's blogs for some really great ideas from our soon to be released Annual Inspirations Idea Book!!!

I have chosen the "Washi Border" technique that is featured on page 118.  Here is a sneak peek of what the technique looks like in the new book...

For my project which is going to be framed for my grand-daughter's bedroom I used our chocolate woodgrain wash tape, Lollydoodle stickease, and metal flowers....

I used two strips of the wash tape---I love how it makes it look like a tree for the owls to sit in!!!
Then I decided to use our spray pen with cotton candy reindeer and a drop of Pearl Paint in a mixture of water and alcohol to splatter a plain white photo mat....

This was a super fast, easy and simple project!!!!

Continue on with the Technique Blog Hop by visiting Debi's blog.

You can visit my website today to place your order for some wash tape.  The chocolate woodgrain wash tape, Lollydoodle paper and stickease will be retiring as of July 31st so make sure you act fast before it's too late to get this super cute paper pack and stickease!!!!!

TBT...Altered Frames

Throwback Thursday

These were some of the first altered frames I made. I printed the verses on my computer then used the retired Wings paper pack and some embellishments - added them to 12x12 frames and used them as Christmas gifts for one of those games where the gifts can be stolen for each other. This was one of the items that was stolen several times!!!!

I think I need to go back and make me a set of these!!!!!

Heartfelt Sentiment Paper Focus - "Skylark" Blog Hop

Welcome to July's Heartfelt Sentiments Paper Focus Blog Hop!!

This month we are showcasing artwork made using either our Timberline or Skylark paper packet.  This hop is a circle so feel free to continue to move through the links provided in each post or here is a list of the participants should you get lost along the way.

If you are here from Melissa's post, then you are on the right track.

I chose to use Skylark this month to showcase a beautiful lily pad flower my son brought to me yesterday while we were at the church for water day (he had made himself the water balloon target in the middle of the pond -- pictures of that will come later!!!!)

Skylark one page layout using Studio J!!!!
Now hop on over to Joy's blog for some more great artwork using either Timberline or Skylark!!!!

Happy Independence Day (Weekend)!!!!

Yesterday was Independence Day for America --- 4th of July. Across America many people were thankful for their freedoms and giving shout-outs for our soldiers who have so bravely fought for our freedom for the last 238 years! I am one of those Americans - very thankful to live in a free country and for the thousands and thousands of men, women and families who have sacrificed for our freedom. But my thankfulness doesn't stop there or even begin there! My thankfulness starts and stops with the freedom I have in being a child of the King - freedom from the guilty & bondage of sin! The freedom I have comes from the ultimate sacrifice of my Savior, Jesus Christ.  This freedom that I have through Christ is an eternal freedom and if you have no idea what this freedom means, contact me and I would be more than glad to share with you how you can also experience eternal freedom!!!!

We started our day yesterday at the church with some of our youth and their families.  We had a picnic along with some great water fun --- 100 foot slip & slide and water balloons.  Then we played cards with Nanny & Papa and finally headed off to Palatka for some DQ blizzards and fireworks.

I made this layout this morning using Studio J.  It's the Independence Day kit and literally took me less than 15 minutes from start to finish!!!!
If you haven't tried Studio J yet and want to know how to create amazing layouts in no time flat, contact me today or click here to get started!!!!!
