Merry CHRISTmas

To begin with, I want to take a few minutes and wish each one of you a very Merry CHRISTmas. This past year has been wonderful for my family --- we had another child graduate from high school and had our first one get married. Life is definitely changing -- for the first time in many years, we will not be waking up on Christmas morning and opening gifts. At first I had a hard time dealing with this as this has been a tradition for us. But then I realized that I am so blessed because all of our children will be here that afternoon for us to be together as a family - and after all that's all that matters!!! I hope and pray that you will be spending time with your family and friends...whether on Christmas Eve, Christmas morning or even after ... as long as you get together!

But most of all, I pray that you will pause at some point and reflect on the awesomeness of God's love for us as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior -- Jesus Christ. He was born so He could die so we could live! A friend of mine had the following comment posted on his Facebook the other day and I thought it was worth passing on:

I want everyone to remember that Christmas is not possible without CHRIST. It's not Happy Holidays or Merry X-mas. It's CHRISTmas - Merry CHRISTmas. We celebrate the birth of Christ only once a year --- how shameful. For those who think once a year is all we need to celebrate JESUS's birth, well let me ask you a question. What if GOD only forgave us of our sins and covered us with the blood of his precious son JESUS once a year? How would you feel if you made a terrible mistake or you did something very wrong, or you felt so guilty or ashamed and you had to wait for that one day of the year to come around before GOD would forgive you and wash you and set you free from your shame and guilt? Have you really ever stopped and thought about the way we can be. We always seem to be so busy caught up in our own life that we really miss the bigger picture. What if GOD said he was too busy for us? Just stop and really think and focus on GOD, make time for Him everyday. Just think about if GOD said I'm too busy for you sinners, or I don't have time to worry with your problems right now. Think about what the birth of CHRIST, the crucifixion of CHRIST and the resurrection of CHRIST really means to you. Thank Him for a love like no one in this world could ever give any of us. Thank Him for being the one and only true living GOD. Merry CHRISTmas and GOD bless you all.

From My Heart to Yours --
Tonya
