The Name of Jesus!

All of the songs we sang this morning in church had to do with the name of Jesus - Master, Savior, Lion of Judah, Blessed Price of Peace, Shepherd, Fortress, Rock of Salvation, Lamb of God is He, Son of David, King of the Ages, Eternal Life, Holy Lord of Glory His name is Life (from His Name Is Life by Bill Gaither).

Then Bro. Buddy's message was about how we can know that Jesus is Jehovah God.  In the old testament, the Hebrew word for Jehovah, LORD, is used almost 7,000 times.  Jehovah is the proper name for our God, our personal LORD.  So I started looking at the meaning of Jesus (by the way I love the Blue Letter Bible website -- it gives the Hebrew & Greek meanings of words).  Jesus means "Jehovah is salvation". So Jesus' name is also Jehovah. They are the same in spirit - Jesus has all the attributes, adorations, and activities of God.  Just speaking His name -- Jesus --- oh the peace His sweet name brings.

As I was sitting there thinking about how my Jesus, my Savior, my LORD  - is the the same LORD - the same Jehovah - -the one that was mentioned 7,000 times in the Old Testament - the creator of this universe, I was overcome with HIS presence.  Last week, as Ron & I were driving home, he asked me if I had ever thought about how small a part of the world we really were.  We were on the interstate driving and there were hundreds of cars on the road with us - -and that was just right where we were at.  But then this morning I was reminded of how very significant I am to my God -- my Savior -- my Jesus --- my Jehovah Salvation! He knows every hair on my head --- every thought in my mind --- every wrinkle in my hand ---- everything about me --- and I also know that I am significant enough that He gave us HIS JESUS to be OUR JESUS! He provided a way to be one with Him. I am so blessed to be HIS child and I am so thankful that I can call Him my Savior.  Just as we sang this morning --- JESUS is everything to me and His name is truly the sweetest name I know.

Pictures from our trip to KY

Here a few of the pictures from our trip to KY.  We had a great time visiting the city with many of our friends from our schools, but Ron & I also had a wonderful time on the way to KY and on the way home.  We made stops in TN at Lookout Mountain, the National Corvettle Musuem in KY and then Stone Mountain in GA.

Just Checking In!

WOW! The past few weeks have been so hectic! We were in Kentucky for a week for an educational conference and then last week at work was crazy busy.  Then in another week, I am heading out to Bryson City, NC with our youth group for our missions trip.  We are looking so forward to that -- we have 2 days set up to do work at the Franklin Baptist Boy's Home and another day to clean some of the creeks in the area.  Of course we will get to have a couple of days of fun -- white water rafting --- but our main purpose is to go and serve!

As far as the scrapbooking goes, July and August are the two months I take off from teaching classes because of summer vacations and the craziness of work and school starting back.  However, that doesn't mean I'm not scrappin' at all though.  As a matter of fact, yesterday we had a open crop and I was able to get a project created for my daughter (I will post a picture after she sees it), finished the miracle kit cards that I have been working on and started working on the first layouts for some of our youth activities.  By the way, stay tuned for updates and new products coming out in September.  I will start posting in August some of the exciting changes that is going to take place with CTMH -- starting with 8 brand new colors!!!!!

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer break and taking some time to relax and enjoy your family and friends!!!!

Walking with God

I sit here tonight thinking about where I am in my walk with God. As I am studying the book of Hebrews and specifically the "Hall of Faith" chapter 11, I read about the men and women who walked with God. It tells us in Genesis that Enoch walked with God for 300 years. And because Noah walked with God, he was found righteous and God led him to build the ark! Now that's walking on the right path. So what path am I walking on? Am I on the path that leads to righteousness? How can I even compare myself to walking with God if that's what these men & women in the Hall of Faith did?

Then I am reminded by the sweet voice of God, that He is the same God of Abraham, Noah, Enoch, Sarah, Rahab, Abel, Joseph, Mary, Jacob, Isaac, and so on as He is today!!!!! It's not based on what I can do --- it's based on what my GOD can do and what He did do. And when I put my trust in knowing that the God who warned Noah about the flood and the God who called Abraham to go into a foreign land and the God who spoke to a young virgin girl through an angel – well that GOD is the same GOD who speaks to me and calls me every morning, throughout the day and into the evening. All I have to do is listen and respond --- and that's when I start walking with God!
