Merry Christmas

As I sit here on Christmas morning, I stop and listen and hear silence. I realize that this is the last Christmas we will have a child at home on Christmas morning and he is still sleeping.  I think back over the last two years and am amazed at how much our lives have changed.  Last night I started to get a little down as I realized that this will be the last year for some of our traditions but then I stopped and thought about how very blessed I am!!!  As our children grow up, get married and start families of their own it is an opportunity to watch each of them start traditions of their own. What is even more exciting is knowing that all of our kids are Christians and that they understand & believe that the only reason we even celebrate Christmas is for the birth of our Savior.

As we reflect on the manger today, we must also look to the cross! The cross that Jesus died on is the real reason we celebrate.  It is the cross that gives us true hope — hope of redemption - hope of forgiveness, grace & mercy! We also need to look beyond the cross and see the empty tomb, for the empty tomb is what gives us hope for eternal life!

In all the excitement of family, friends, gifts, food, games and whatever else your traditions bring about today, I pray that each one of you know my Savior as your own Savior and that you have experienced His amazing grace & forgiveness.  If not, what better way to spend CHRISTmas than by choosing to follow Him?

Here is my gift to you -- watch and reflect on the gift of our Lord!!!!

If you are coming from Catherine's Blog, you are on the right track!

For my project I created a Christmas card that was inspired by someone on Pinterest (sorry I cannot remember who.)

The base was created using our Chevron embossing folder. Then the tree was made with our new white shimmer trim tape that I colored green with our ShinHan marker! I love these markers ---- now I can have any color of shimmer trim I want!!!!

Thanks for stopping by! Please continue onto Tina's Blog where you will find some additional artwork highlighting this technique! Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought of my variation. Happy hopping!

Confetti Wishes is a very fun paper pack with a birthday theme. However, I have been wanting to scrap pictures of my grand babies summer photo session and when I saw the colors of this paper pack, I knew it was perfect!!! I love the bright colors combinations of Canary, Pacifica & Pear! I used the Pop of Color template from our Make it From Your Heart Volume 2 for my layout.

As you can see these colors are perfect for this photo shoot!!!

I used our brand new (just released in our Seasonal Expressions 1) White Shimmer Tape to give a border and some pop!!!! The title was cut using our Artbooking cartridge & our Artise cartridge.

I used our new White Enamel stars and a yellow ShinHan marker.  I love how we can make these stars any color we want with the ShinHan markers!

Christmas Cards & Picture My Life Mashup

So here is another a mashup using Picture My Life Pear & Partridge with some card bases and embellishments!

Many of the cards have red & green sparkles but I only had clear ones! However, thanks to a tip I just received from a dear friend and my upline, Melissa, I found out we can color our sparkles with our new markers!!!!! OMW! This is my new favorite trick -- I love sparkles and now I can match them with all my projects!!!!

As far as the cards go, this is a great deal.  The PML Pear & Partride kit that I purchased is shown here:

With the a'la Carte program you get a total of 122 PML cards for only $14.95 each which makes each individual cards less than 13 cents each.  So for my Christmas cards I either used 1 or 2 of the PML cards, a few embellishments, card stock for the mat and a card base --- most definitely less than $0.50 per card!!!!! Now that's a deal!!!

Visit my website to get your PML kit today and get your own handmade cards ready for Christmas!!!! And while your at it add some sparkles and a few markers so you embellish, embellish, embellish!!!!

Christmas Cards & Studio J Mashup!!!!

I know many of you have heard of a mashup where someone using a computer program to smash together two or more songs/sounds!  (To hear an amazing mashup click here!!!)

Well today I want to show you how I mashed up Studio J with some card bases and ended up with 12 beautiful Christmas cards!!!!

So here is what I created on Studio J:

And here are the results of the mashup with my cutter, card bases and adhesive!!!

There are 2 each of these cards for a total of 8 - these were made using the Snowhaven kit in SJ.

These cards were made using Yuletide Carol kit in SJ!
So that is 12 cards for $7.50!!! During the month of November all Studio J layouts are only $5 (remember a layout is considered 2 pages.) For the Snowhaven cards I used both pages so that was $5 but the Yuletide Carol cards I only used 1 of the pages as the other page of the layout is for another project that I will showcase later.  Since I only used 1 side of that layout I am calculating the cost at $2.50 for a total of $7.50 for those cards!!!

Click on over to my website to start creating your very own Studio J creations now (click on Products, then Studio J.)  I do have a tutorial for making the cards; if you are interested in it, leave me a comment with your e-mail address and I will be glad to send it to you!

Corn Maze Fun

Here is a layout I created using Studio J that features the “Background Story Technique” that is shown on page 115 of our current Annual Inspirations Idea Book.  The Background Story Technique allows for the background of the layout along with some images and the title to tell the story - no need for journaling!!!! For my creation I used the Pathfinding kit.  It was perfect for pictures of our corn maze adventures --- the background and title are perfect for these photos!!!

Remember this month all layouts from Studio J are only $5!!!! There are also some other great incentives for Studio J this month --- check it all out here!

To begin with Studio J, visit my website then click on the November Online Gathering and choose Studio J under the Products tab at the top of the page.

Christmas Creations with No Ink

As I have already mentioned in earlier posts, all Studio J layouts this month are only $5! That's 2 12x12 pages printed on the highest quality of paper for only $5 --- you can't even get photos printed for that!!!!

Well last night & today I started making Christmas cards, yes you read that right - Christmas cards, in Studio J.  With the No Limits template in SJ you can create anything you want to - including cards and even some subway art!

Here are some cards using our new Snowhaven paper kit ---

Notice that these 2 pages are almost identical with the exception of some of the 'stickease' I placed around the empty spaces -- I will use those for other projects! That's 12 cards for only $5! And it's handmade. All I will have to do is cut them and adhere them to a plain card base!

And here is a page of cards I made using the new Yuletide Carol kit:
Again, I used some of the empty space for a few stickease and even some border strips!  For the other side of this layout I decided to make some subway art 6x6 signs that I will either use for gifts or for my own home:
So this $5 I will get 6 cards, 4 subway art designs & a few stickease designs! Now that's what I call a deal!

Since I used Studio J to create all of this, I am also using this to participate in this week's Heart 2 Heart November No Ink Challenge for this week!  I love the challenges at Heart 2 Heart and hopefully I can start participating in more of them since my mojo is coming back!!!!

Remember all you have to do to get started with Studio J is visit my website, join this months online gathering and then click Studio J from the products menu!

CTMH Paper Focus Blog Hop - Snowhaven

This month we are showcasing artwork made using our Snowhaven paper packet.  This hop is a circle so feel free to continue to move through the links provided in each post. It has been a couple of months since I have participated in a blog hop and let me just say it feels good to be hopping again!!!!

If you are here from Aggie's blog then you are on the right path.

For my creation this month I used Studio J to showcase some pictures from a trip my hubby & I took a couple of years ago to the mountains.  This paper is a perfect match for pics of the snow kissed mountains!

Living in Florida doesn't lend itself to having a lot of winter time pictures so this is when Studio J is a great way of creating perfect layouts when you don't need a whole kit! And this month all layouts from Studio J are only $5!!!!!!  Visit my website to start creating (make sure you join the November Online Gathering to order your layouts to receive a handmade goodie from me).

Now visit Melissa's blog to see what she amazing creation she has made!!!!
