CTMH Technique Blog Hop -- Call for Back-Up

Welcome to our June

CTMH Technique Blog Hop!!!

This month there are 1o CTMH Consultants highlighting the "Call for Back-Up" technique that is featured on page 80 of our Annual Inspirations Idea Book! This technique is all about creating a colorful and fun background using the negative space from punches or your cricut cartridges. Negative space refers to the paper that is left - not the actual cut-outs.  This technique is simple yet adds so much to a layout or card or whatever you are creating.

If you are here from Haley's blog, then you are on the right track.

For my creation this month, I created 2 cards using the negative space from my  CTMH cricut cartridge, Art Philosophy. Here is the negative space along with the banners and circles that I will save for another project!

I used the chocolate cardstock to create the pennant look and then backed each one with a strip of Jackson B&T for a birthday card for my son. I always have a hard time making masculine cards, but this made creating one very easy!!!

And then I used the circle negative space that I cut from the Chalk It Up B&T and used it with the chalkboard B&T from the same paper pack, added buttons inside each of the circles and voila - here it is:

I chose not to add a sentiment yet, that way I can quickly use this for whatever last minute card giving I need to do!!!!
